Khalil Max Monson

Malad….Khalil Max Monson, 80 of Malad, husband of Lois Price Monson, passed away at his home following a long illness on February 2, 2011. He was born August 16, 1930 in Malad, a son of Max Revere and Kathleen Adele Williams Monson. He was raised and educated in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. He married Mary Lois Price on May 3, 1950 in Malad. Khalil worked most of his life as an Ironworker and had been employed for various companies throughout the western states. Following the death of his father, he moved back to Malad and operated the family farm until his retirement. Khalil was a skilled craftsman and had completed several projects in woodwork and ironwork, mostly for friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Lois of Malad; children; Cathy (Ron) Baker of Portland, Oregon; Chris (Shelly) Monson of Malad; Tracy (Bonnie) Monson of Chigiak, Alaska. 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; Marilyn (Delwin) Smith of Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents an infant sister. The Monson family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice Staff including, Cami Tripp and Brent Schow for their love and care shown to Khalil during his illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. where friends may visit with the Monson family on Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. You are invited to send condolences to the Monson family by visiting www.horsleyfuneralhome.com
