Kenneth Lynn “Woody” Wilson
Downey

Kenneth Lynn Wilson, 49, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the LDS Hospital following a long illness. Kenny was born on July 7, 1960 in Downey, Idaho, a son of Clarence and MarJean Ware Wilson. He remained in Downey most of his life. He was a graduate of Marsh Valley High School, class of 1978. He later married Keri Jo Morrison on February 19, 1982. They were married for 18 months before their divorce. However, their friendship has lasted long beyond that.
He then married Ronie Koeppen on February 14, 1986. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters. Just before the birth of their third child Kenny received a most needed kidney and pancreas transplant. These new organs served him well as they added another 18 years to his life. After 11 years of marriage and many trials Kenny and Ronie were divorced. He remained in Downey with their three daughters where he was able to raise them and share in their many successes.
On January 2, 1999 he married Janice Smith and brought her, her son and two daughters into their lives. They were married for 10 years living in both Downey and Preston.
Kenny had many interests. He loved to camp, especially if it involved his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and going for long rides on his motorcycle. If you drove past his house on almost any summer evening, you would find him sitting out on his front porch enjoying a “barley pop”.
He will be missed by all who knew him. Kenny is survived by his three daughters, Jessie, Brittany and Dakota and his three adored granddaughters, Shaela Phillips, and PaiLee and Caleigh Knight. He is also survived by his parents Clarence and MarJean Wilson of Downey; sisters, Ladene (Kelly) Fly of Downey, Lisa (Kevin) Pratt of Preston; and five brothers, Daniel (Robin) Wilson of Downey, Wayne (Sharon) Wilson of Preston, Brent (DeAnn) Wilson of Preston, Bruce (Audrey) Wilson of St. Louis, MO, and Brian (Kelly) Wilson of St. Louis, MO along with their families.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 29, 2009 at 12:00 noon in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the Wilson family on thursday prior to the service from 10:00-11:45 am. Burial will follow in the Downey City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses. A fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank in Preston for Kenneth “Woody” Wilson.
