Keith Anderson

MALAD CITY, Idaho – Keith Anderson, 71, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Monday, June 27, 2005 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City from complications following a short illness.

Dad was born December 13, 1933 in Wales, Utah, the son of Peter Grant and LaFonda King Anderson. Dad grew up in Wales and attended school in Moroni. He also attended Snow College in Ephraim where he was a member of the basketball team.

He married his best friend and the love of this life, Arlene Potter, on July 18, 1958. Dad and Mom lived in Wales, Ephraim, and Pleasant View before moving to Malad City, Idaho.

Keith served with the U.S. Army for two years and was stationed in Eliason, Alaska.

Dad and Mom owned and operated Weber Livestock Auction in Ogden from 1972 to 1997. They sold the business and retired to Malad in the summer and Phoenix, Arizona in the winter where they trained and raced their horses at Turf Paradise. Dad enjoyed traveling, buying and selling cattle, racing horses, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of his children and grandchildren in sports, rodeos and horse racing. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be missed by all. We cherished the time we had with him. He will live in our hearts forever.

Dad is survived by his five children, Jerry (Teddy) Anderson, Plain City; Connie (Bart) Hone and Dale Anderson, both of Phoenix, AZ; Kaylene (Jeff) Kirkpatrick, Hesperia, CA; Debbie (Doug) Harbertson, Plain City; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one sister and one brother, Gwen McGarry, Ephraim, UT; LaGrande (Mildred) Anderson, San Jose, CA; and Arlene’s sister, Diane, and two brothers, Don and Merrill and his loving friend, Vonna Saxton, Smithfield, UT.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Arlene Potter Anderson, his mother and father, three brother-in-laws, Rawlin Jacobson, Wendell McGarry, and Dean Potter.
