Kay Miles Bowen

Arimo…Kay Miles Bowen, 57, passed away on August 14, 2010 at Portneuf Regional Medical Center surrounded by her husband and daughters. Kay was born August 1, 1953 to Cecil L. and Dorothy Allen Miles in Preston, Idaho. She grew up on the family farm in Banida, Idaho and graduated from Preston High School. She later attended Ricks College receiving a certificate in Secretarial Science.
Kay married the love of her life, Gary Thomas Bowen, and was sealed in the Logan Utah Temple. They have lived in Logan, Utah; McCammon and Arimo Idaho since that union raising their three daughters.
Kay worked in various retail organizations including the Book Table in Logan, Utah, and ZCMI and Deseret Book in Pocatello where she continued to develop her passion for reading and shared this passion while serving her customers. Kay had a knack for finding the right book for the right occasion.
Kay is survived by her husband Gary, their three daughters Amy Brown (Allen) of Pocatello, Torey (Monty Larimer) of Idaho Falls and Lindsay Krahn (Kent) of Idaho Falls, and her six grandchildren Kellie, Kenneth, Ashlyn, Kayla, Chuck, and BJ. Kay is also survived by her sisters Arlene Tsujimoto (Ben) of Taylorsville, Utah, Lois Pedersen (Mundi) of Delta, Utah, Lorraine Youngstrom of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Valorie Topham (Dewey) of Parowan, Utah. Kay has been greeted on the other side by her parents, grandparents, Brother-in-Law Lynn Youngstrom and grandson Troy Larimer.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Center, 286 Henderson Ave. Friends may visit with the Bowen family on Tuesday evening, August 17, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Dr. and again from 10:30-11:30a.m. prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Arimo City Cemetery.
