K Ross Tracy

K Ross Tracy, 72, passed away on July 7, 2013, in Gooding, Idaho.

Dad was born on February 24, 1941, in Tremonton, Utah, to Anthon Orin and Verna Helen Larsen Tracy. He was the oldest of nine children including 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Dad’s childhood years were spent in Park Valley, Utah where he attended elementary school. The family moved to Tremonton where he attended Bear River High School for two years, then joined the Navy in 1958 and graduated from Bear River High School in 1959.

Dad served in the Navy for 4 years from 1958 to 1962 and the Navel Reserves until 1964. He was a Radio Operator 3rd Class(morse code). He was stationed on the U.S.S. Hamner in San Diego, California. His last duty assignment being the U.S.S. Prairie.

While serving in the Navy dad married mom, Mary Ann Hill, on August 12th 1961. To this union 4 children were born, Teri Lynn, Teresa Ann, Tony R and Tad J.

They resided in San Diego, California for a year after their marriage and then moved to the Garland/Tremonton area. In 1976 the family moved to Malad, Idaho were dad was made manager of Farmers Grain Coop, after driving truck for them for a number of years. He was later transferred to the American Falls Elevator. Dad was one of the most influential grain buyers of his era in South Eastern Idaho. Dad and mom where later divorced.

He married Dawnetta King on October 30th 2002. They resided in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a time; did some traveling and then made their home in Deming, New Mexico where they resided for 8 years before moving to Hagerman, Idaho in May of 2013.

Ross is survived by his wife, Dawnetta, of Hagerman, Idaho and his children Teri Lynn Tracy, Preston, Idaho; Teresa Ann Daniels(Danny), Malad, Idaho; Tony R Tracy, Stockton, Ca; and Tad J Tracy, Malad, Idaho and a step daughter Vicki Woolington, Naples, Fl.; 14 grand children; 3 step grand children; 7 great grand children and 4 step great grand children. He is also survived by his sisters RaNae Tracy and Vicki Smith and brothers Michael Tracy and Brent Tracy.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters Marcia Tracy, and Jean Tracy; brothers LaMar Tracy and Lowell Tracy; a step son Bobby Lattin.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 12th, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Malad LDS Stake Center, 1250 N 1100 W, Malad, Idaho. Friends may visit with the family at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. on Thursday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:00-9:45 am prior to services . Burial will follow in the Richfield Cemetery, Richfield, Idaho at 3:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Horsley Funeral Home.
