June Evans Ward

Malad:
June Evans Ward 92, passed away July 30, 2009 in the Oneida County Hospital of complications from a fall in her home. She was born June 15, 1917, to Thomas D. and Jenny Morgan Evans, in the house where she spent most of her life. She was the youngest of three daughters. June was educated in Malad, and the L.D.S. Business School in Salt Lake City.
June married John Moroni Ward June 15, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five daughters Marcia, Pat, Launa, Annette and Camille.
June taught piano and vocal lessons for many years, and worked at Crowther’s Mill as a secretary/bookkeeper for 13 years. She used her musical talent in many capacities throughout her life. She served in the L.D.S. Church as chorister, organist, teacher, Relief Society President. Stake Singing Mothers chorister, and served a mission in Dublin, Ireland with her husband.
For fourteen years they spent their winters in St. George, Utah. June’s favorite hobbies were reading, music, cooking and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Sisters Gwen Ward and Lucille Pett, son-in-law Kimball Blackburn, and 1 granddaughter and 2 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Lee) Waldron, Glendale, AZ; Pat (Varsel) Christophersen, Malad, ID; Launa Blackburn, West Bountiful, UT; Annette (Orm) Richter, Bountiful, UT; Camille (Jerry) Hirschi, Riverside, UT, 14 grandchildren, 41 great grand children, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was loved very much by her children, grandchildren and extended family members and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 12:00 noon in the Malad 6th Ward LDS Chapel, 400 N 200 W. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N and again at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:30-11:30a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
