Josephine Jones Yearsley

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, at the St. John LDS Ward Chapel for Mrs. N. Melvin Josephine Yearsley, 72, who died. Monday evening at the Oneida Hospital after a long illness.

Josephine Jones Yearsley was born Sept. 26, 1892, at St. John, a daughter of Evan G. and Josephine Deschamps Jones. She was educated in St. John and Malad schools and received a lifetime teaching certificate from Idaho Technical Institute, Pocatello. She taught school at Stone, Woodruff and St. John.
She was married to N. Melvin Yearsley Sept. 24. 1913, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. An active member of the Church, she worked in all the auxiliaries and organizations of the Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and seven daughters; N. Dale and E. Joyce, Orem, Utah; Mrs. Darrell (Norma) Schiffman, Logan; Mrs. Perry (Elmo) Smith, Ventura, California; Mrs. Don (Rula) Gowers, Nephi, Utah; Mrs. Woodrow A. (Twila) Giles, Morgan, Utah; Mrs. Phil (Theone) Rees, Hunter, Utah; Mrs. DeVon (Ina) Daniels, Ogden; Mrs. Fred (Karen) Rinehart, Salt Lake City; 28 grandchildren; six brothers and two sisters, Dr. L. Mitchell Jones, Salt Lake City; John D. Jones, Stockton, Calif.; Evan G. Jones, St. John; Ruel Jones, Provo; Marion Jones, Seattle; Golden Jones, San Carlos, Calif.; Mrs. H. T. (Sarah) Stayner, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mrs. William R. (Rosalie) Neilson, Redwood, California.
Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Wednesday evening and Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
