Funeral Services held for Josephine Anderson

Josephine DeFilippis Anderson, 57, died June 19, 1983, in Oakland, California, following a long illness. She was a former resident of Pocatello and Arbon. She was born to Anthona and Mary Seiveno DeFilippis in Chicago, Illinois on October 12, 1926. She attended grade school in Chicago, and junior high in Salt Lake City, Utah, and high school in Pocatello.

Since her marriage to Norman D. Anderson, a former Arbon Valley resident, she had lived in Oakland, California. For the past nine years they owned and operated the Windsor Square Deli in San, Leandro, California.

Mrs. Anderson was a devoted wife and mother and she was a very good cook. She and her husband were rock hound enthusiasts and served as officers in the Oakland organization.

She is survived by her husband, Oakland, Calif.; five daughters, Paulette Leandro, San Leandro, Calif.; Charlette Lushin, Fairbanks, Alaska; Cecelia Langley, Newark, Calif.; Priscilla Murdock, Fremont, Calif.; and Pamela Anderson, Oakland, Calif.; eight grandchildren; her mother and a brother, Tony, both of Pocatello; and three sisters, Lucille Martin and Florence Cory, both of Pocatello, and Elizabeth Moss, Sunnyvale, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Louise Leffler.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 24, 1983, at the Arbon LDS Ward Chapel with former Bishop Dave Lusk officiating. Burial was in the Arbon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by the Manning Funeral Chapel.
