Malad – Josephine Colton Allen, 75, of Malad, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1993 in Malad.

She was born Sept, 4, 1917, in Malad, the daughter of Morgan J. and Sarah Amelia Thorpe Colton.
She was raised and educated in Malad, and was a graduate of Malad High School. She married Ervin Leroy Allen on March 31, 1936 in Malad. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple March 17, 1965.
She had worked many years as a grocery clerk at the Millstream Grocery Store in Malad. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary M. and Kathleen Allen, and one daughter, Colleen Anderson, all of Malad; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Colton, Malad; and three sisters, Grace Hill, Ardyth Toland and Beth Davis, all of Malad. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan 22, at noon in the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel, Bishop Brad Thorpe officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, tonight from 6 p.m. To 8 p.m., and on Friday from 10:30 a.m. To 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
