Joseph Charles Allen ā€“ 22 Feb 1907
Our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother Joseph Charles Allen, 84 passed away November 12, 1991, at his Salt Lake City home.
He was born February 22, 1907, in Portage, Utah to Joseph ā€œDā€ and Elizabeth Ann Naylor Allen.
He was formerly married to Dorothy Emma Mortenson. He married Veva Maurine Casto Draper, June 5, 1942.
He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a professional wrestler in Pioche, Nevada and a devout family man. He retired in 1972 after 43 years service for Mountain Bell. He supervised the conversion of the telephone operator system to the dial system in Ogden. He walked every day and enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He loved to be with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Maurine, Salt Lake; children and their spouses, Renee and Richard Tomlin, South Jordan, Sharon Wells Draper, Salt Lake; Joseph Lynn and Janene, Taylorsville; Dennis C. and Jennene, Lindon; Eileen and Ronald Case, Evanston, Wyo.; Shauna and Scott Dickamore, Henderson, Nev.; Jon P. and Dianne, Roy K. and Julie all of West Valley City; Brent K. and Patsy, Salt Lake; 43 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; Ralph, Leon, Ellis, Edna Tippets, Faye Bingham.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 1991, at 11 a.m. At the Granite Park LDS Ward Chapel, 601 East Mansfield Ave. (3115 So.). Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. At Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.
