Jordan Lynn Atkinson

Jordan Lynn Atkinson, age 14, returned to his Heavenly Father on September 1, 2008. Jordan, beloved son of Garen Allen and Kathleen Wiser Atkinson, was born in Phoenix, AZ on August 12, 1994.

Jordan’s family left their good friends in Arizona and moved to Malad, Idaho when he was seven months old. Jordan attended school at Malad Elementary, Malad Middle School and was just beginning his adventures at Malad High School. He had an immense love of reading and learning in general. He was always on the honor roll with a 3.0 GPA. He always wanted to know how and why and investigated until he found out. He was planning to have an associate degree by high school graduation and then go to medical school so he could come back to Malad as a general practitioner.

As an eighth grader, Jordan was nominated by his teachers to attend the Youth Leadership convention in Washington, D.C. Jordan loved sports. He was on the wrestling, basketball, baseball, track and football teams. He loved being part of a team as well as his coaches and especially his teammates. He was a huge Buccaneers fan. He was also a Scouting fan. He had a plan and a timeline for getting his Eagle award. He loved Scouting trips with his best friend, Devin, and Devin’s father, Rex Robbins.

Jordan is survived by his parents, Garen and Kathleen; his brothers, Weston Garen Atkinson, Austin Don Atkinson and Hunter Jon Atkinson, all of Malad; as well as grandparents, Lynn and Mary Ransom; and great-grandmother, Idella Ransom of Preston, ID; Lewis Wiser of Nibley, UT; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends who all adored Jordan.

Jordan is preceded in death by grandparents, Keith Atkinson Of Preston, and Louise Wiser of Nibley, UT; and several great-grandparents who are watching over him now.

Jordan will be greatly missed by his parents, his brothers and all who knew this incredible kid.
