John W. (Jay) Beager

John W. (Jay) Beager, 83, former resident of Buhl, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2001, in the Oneida Long Term Care Center in Malad.

He was born January 8, 1918 in Buhl, a son of Albert and Grace Beager. His parents were longtime residents having moved from Missouri in 1916. He graduate from, Buhl High School in 1937. He married Rachel Agnes Collins on December 24, 1939, in Corvallis, Oregon. He worked for Smith’s Dairy and M.H. King Co. in Buhl, later moving to Dillon, Montana, where he worked for M. H. King Co. until he retired. In 1980, Jay and Rachel returned to Buhl to enjoy retirement.

He is survived by two daughters, Joan (Jack) Cotterell, League City, Texas, and Bonnie (Brent) Howard, Malad, Idaho; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one more due in January.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rachel; and one brother, Lee Beager.

Graveside services were held Friday, September 28 in the West End Cemetery in Buhl. Memorials are suggested to the Oneida County Hospital Foundation at 150 N. 200 W. Malad City, Idaho, 83252.
