Downey Idaho….John “Lee” Sayles, 67, passed away on Thursday April 23, 2015. Lee was born in Oildale California on September 30th 1947 a son of Burrell Clinton and Helen Louise Sherwood Sayles. He was raised and went to school in Newhall California. Lee lived several places and held a variety of jobs. He worked in manufacturing, woodworking, security, as a warehouse manager, and as a healthcare provider. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was very active in the scouting program where he served for many years. He was active in the community, as a member of the Lions club, and was always making friends and helping where he was able. Lee is survived by his wife Susan and three children; Lora (Rick) Lewis of Elwood IN, Marjorie Sayles of Pocatello, and Larry (Allison) Sayles of Washington UT; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also a sister Margret of Grass Valley CA and brother Alan (Becky) of Rancho Cordova CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Marian. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 28, 2015 at the church in Downey, with a viewing just prior from 10am-11:45. Burial will follow in the Downey City Cemetery.
