John Jones Thomas

John Jones Thomas, of Las Vegas, Nev., and former Malad resident, died Tuesday, Dec 7, 1993, in Las Vegas.

He was born July 31,1993, in St. John, a son of Thomas Franklin and Maude Irene Jones Thomas. He grew up and was educated in St. John and Malad, was a graduate of Malad High School, and had attended Idaho State University. He married Barbara Ann Black Nov. 2, 1957, in Hinckley, Utah, and they were later divorced.

He had lived and worked in Idaho, Utah, and Nevada, and was employed for 23 years with the Standard Oil Company. While in Las Vegas, he had worked for the Arco and Union Oil Companies. Mr. Thomas loved to hunt and fish, and had a great love for horses.

He is survived by three daughters, one son and their spouses, Michelle and Earl Rezac of Murray, Utah, Susan and Alan Kajuma of Las Vegas, Nevada. Lisa and Bob Barrera of Las Vegas, and John and Becky Thomas of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Dean L. (Mary Lou) Williams, of Pocatello, Idaho; one brother and wife, Dale and Fern Thomas, of St. John; his mother of Malad, Mrs. Maude J. Thomas and a very special friend, Jeannie O’Grady of Hitchcock, Texas.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 11, 1993 at the St. John LDS Church in Malad. Burial was in the St. John Cemetery.
