John (Jack) R Davis

John (Jack) R Davis passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, quietly in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 82 and husband to Anna(Janette) Davis. Jack was born August 16 1933 in Malad, Idaho and graduated from Malad High School in 1951. He then joined the Navy and was stationed in Long Beach Ca. while there he met and married Anna (Janette) Sadler on December 18, 1954. They had 2 children and continued to live in California until 1962 when they returned to Idaho. Jack worked at the INEL for 31 years before retiring in 1995. He and Janette lived in Idaho Falls until 1987 after which they moved to Rigby and lived there until 2012. Jack was an avid sports fan both playing and watching. He boxed thru high school and some in the Navy even getting the Golden Glove in high school. He played basketball and baseball throughout his life and enjoyed golf, getting a hole In one in 2001. Jack loved to fish and spending time hunting with his son Jerry and grandson Trevor. Jack and Janette moved to Pocatello in 2012 and live there now. Jack is Survived by his wife of 61 years, his children Patie (Dean) Molder of Pocatello and Jerry (Wendy) Davis of Rigby; his 5 grandchildren Brittny Davis Gonzalez of Pocatello, Jared (Lindsey) Chadwick of London, Amber (Jeremy) Hill of Rigby, Shera Davis of Idaho Falls and Trevor Davis of Rigby. He also has 7 great grandchildren Antone Davis, Yonique Sanch and Joaquin Gonzalez of Pocatello, Mya Hill and Aiden Hill of Rigby, Landon Chadwick and Easton Chadwick of London England. He is also survived by 2 sisters Pearl (Darwin) Tolbert of Salt Lake City and Deanna (Jim) Johnston of California. He is proceeded in by his parents and 4 brothers and 5 sisters. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jordan Bailey and staff as well as Access Home Health and Hospice for the great care that was given. And most of all grandma wants to thank Brittny for the love and care she has given her papa allowing him to remain at home during his illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N.
