John “Jack” Anderson

John “Jack” Anderson, 67, of 1333 North Main, died Friday (21 Oct 1988) in Pocatello.

He was born August 15, 1921 in Idaho Falls, the son of John William and Maude Ann Evans Anderson. He graduated from Malad High School.

In 1942 he entered the service during World War II, and served in the Air Force overseas.

He married Marie Hixson July 21, 1946 in Reno, Nevada. They were later divorced. He married Diane Fince July 20, 1957 in McCammon. They also divorced.

He worked as a pipefitter and plumber in the construction business for 35 years in many communities of southeast Idaho. He lived in Pocatello since 1948.

He was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing and all spectator sports.

He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, Elks and Moose Lodges, 100F, as well as the Local Pipefitters Union No. 648.

He is survived by three sons, Robert John, Ricky Joe and Gary Lynn Anderson, all of Pocatello; two daughters, Mrs. Ged (Ella Jean) Miner, Utah, and Laural Ann Aikin, Pocatello; six grandchildren; four brothers, Bill Anderson, Downey, Dan Anderson, Malad, Dean Anderson, Twin Falls, and Dave Anderson, Pocatello; and two sisters Mrs. Alice Beth McCartin, Redding, California and Mrs. Farrell (Marilyn) Lusk, Boise. He was preceded in death by one son, William H. Anderson, a brother and sister.

Funeral services were held in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery, with military honors accorded by Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65, American Legion.
