John Hill

MALAD-John Hill, 76, 360 N. 300 W., Malad, died Saturday in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City following complications from heart surgery.
He was born May 31, 1908, in St. John, to John and Mary Jane Williams Hill. He grew up and was educated in Daniels and Malad.
As a young man, he had worked with his father on a farm in the Daniels area northwest of Malad.
He married Grace Colton, March 21, 1934, in Preston.
He farmed and ranched in Daniels all of his working life. He had also worked as a carpenter for many years during the off season.
He was an elder in the LDS Church and served as a ward clerk and home teacher. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He is survived by his wife of Malad; two sons, John C. Hill, Malad; Lamont Hill, Pocatello; two daughters, Mrs. Veryl (Ethyl) Nessen, Howell, Utah; 1 Mrs. Ted (Daneil) Loveday, Pocatello; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Cowley, Malad; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted for John Hill, Tuesday, February 12, in the Malad Third Ward Chapel with Bishop Garth Sweeten officiating. Mr. Hill, age 76, passed away Saturday morning, February 9, in a Salt Lake City Hospital.
