John Dale Blaisdell

John Dale Blaisdell, 89, of Malad, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2005.

He was born October 21, 1915, in Malad, a son of John E. and Florence Barber Blaisdell. Dale grew up in a large family on the family ranch, where he learned to love that way of life. He and his brothers worked alongside their father and developed it into a wonderful working ranch.

He married Annie Lorraine Daniels on Christmas Eve in 1935. Their marriage was later solemnized on the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.

They raised five children: Richard (Ramona) Blaisdell of Salt Lake City, Utah; Caryle (David) Cooper of Sussex, England; Marilyn (Jack) Willomott of Hagerman, Idaho; Jerry (Penny) Blaisdell of Medford, Oregon; Scott (Sharee) Blaisdell of Malad, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dale was an active member of the Idaho Cattleman’s Association, serving on the board of directors. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various callings through the years, including counselor in the Bishopric for eight years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine; parents; brothers: Edward, Kenneth and Nolan; and a sister, Thora Jensen.

Dale left this life with no regrets and willingly rushed to be with his wife and family on the other side.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 10, 2005, at the Malad LDS Stake Chapel with Bishop Tim Edwards officiating.

Burial followed in the Malad City Cemetery.
