Jim Chivers

Ogden – Jim Chivers, 73, passed away on March 29, 2015. He was born April 28, 1941 in Malad, Idaho to Harriett Reece and Darreld Chivers. He lived in Malad until he was 17 when he moved to Island Park. After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969 he moved to Ogden. Jim married Sharon Wilson in April 1970 in Las Vegas.

He worked for Standard Oil having several service stations in the Ogden area. He worked for Weber County for the last 15 years. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing; anything to do with being outdoors.

Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon; his mother, Harriett; daughters, Jaymie Chivers – Johnson (Clint), Stacee Chivers and granddaughter, Shayleigh Wixom; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 2 brothers, Don Chivers and Larry Chivers. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Alfred.

Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.
