Jennie O. Jensen Albretsen

MALAD – Jennie O. Jensen Albretsen, 87, a former Malad resident, died Wednesday 11 July [1984] at Caribou County Nursing Home in Soda Springs.

She was born August 22, 1896, in Hyrum, Utah to Christen and Mary Ann Israeliser Jensen. She grew up and was educated in Hyrum. She moved to Pocatello Valley west of Malad where her family homesteaded a farm.

She married Julius F. Albretsen, February 21, 1922, in Malad. He died May 10, 1939. They lived in Malad and farmed in the Pocatello Valley.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving many years as a visiting teacher in the Relief Society.

Survivors include a son, LaVoy Albretsen, Malad and Lava Hot Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Jean) Seversen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. George (Coy) Shillinger, Sedro Wolley, Washington; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, W. R. Jensen, Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Melva Webb, Brigham City, Utah; and two half-sisters, Ruby Sturgeon and Ioda Sellstrom, both of Paradise, California. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Benson-Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was in Hyrum Cemetery.
