She married S. Oleen Josephson on May 2, 1929, in the Salt Lake Temple. Their legacy includes six children: Boyd (Shirley), Garland, Utah; Anna (Stan Peterson), Orem, Utah; Garth (LoReta), Plymouth, Utah; Emily (Don Markgraf), Springville, Utah; Kathy (Bob Haas), Rocklin, California; and David (Pat), Ogden, Utah; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Jean had worked in the Primary, Sunday School, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations both on the ward and stake level. She had a great love for teaching the youth of the church and taught Teacher Development classes for many years. Jean and Oleen served in the Tulsa Oklahoma Mission and also were Temple workers in the Logan Temple. She was always very supportive of her husband as he served as bishop of the Plymouth Ward for 12 years and other callings in the LDS Church. They celebrated 54 years of marriage together before his death in 1983.
After receiving her education, she taught school for many years in both Oneida and Box Elder Counties. After 20 years of service, she retired as the Postmaster in Plymouth, Utah, where they were long-time residents.
Jean had a great love for her family and for people in general. She always had a warm smile and greeting for everyone. Her gracious nature and contagious laughter were endearing. Having family and friends visit in her home brought her great joy. She enjoyed the beauties of nature and loved the flowers she would grow and share with others.
