Jeanette Anna Sandberg Broman

Jeanette Anna Sandberg Broman, 89 passed away peacefully at her daughter, Barbara Crane’s home in Layton, Utah on 25 September 2017. She died of pancreatic cancer.

Jeanette was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 29, 1928. She was the oldest daughter of Bror Rudolf Emanuel Sandberg and Jeanette Harriett Mary Rydzowski.

When she was seven-years-old, her family moved to Sweden. At the age of twenty-one she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jeanette was the first member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern Sweden, and remained active in the church all her life. She served in many positions in the church including, primary, relief society, and early morning seminary teachers, librarian, young women camp director, young women counselor, genealogy teacher and consultant, as well as relief society president.

She met the love of her life, Gene Folke Broman, and was married to him in the Salt Lake Temple on February 15, 1952.

In 1954 Jeanette and Gene moved to California, where they lived for 59 years and raised their four children; Barbara, Lori, Gene and Rick. They lived in Valencia, California for 44 years.

Jeanette finished her schooling in Sweden and became an elementary school teacher. She taught school for two years in Sweden. At 52 she returned to school and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She established her own practice as a marriage and family therapist and helped many people with their problems until she retired at 72.

Jeanette loved to read, learn, run, walk, hike, sew, travel and spend time with her family.

Jeanette was predeceased by her parents, Bror and Jeanette Sandberg; siblings, Eleanor Chase, Evelyn Sandberg and Richard Sandberg; and spouse Gene Folke Broman. Jeanette is survived by her children; Barbara Crane (Gerald Crane) of Layton, UT, Lori Fletcher (James Fletcher) of West Jordan, UT, Gene Broman (Linda Hodnett) of Trent Woods, NC, and Richard {Rick} Broman (Susan Kilmer) of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 7 October 2017 at 12:00 PM. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral from 10:30 to 11:30. Jeanette will be buried next to her husband Gene Folke Broman in Eternal Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Newhall, California.
