Jean Parry Olson Williams

Malad, Idaho – Jean Parry Olson Williams, a long time resident of Malad City, Idaho, passed away at her home Saturday, July 20, 2013.

She was born January 28, 1937, in Malad, Idaho, to Wilford Evans and Mary Hughes Parry, and was the fourth of five children. She was raised in Malad and was educated in the Oneida County School District and graduated from Malad High School in1954. After graduating from high school she attended Idaho State University for one year. In 1955 she married Pete Lamar Olson in Malad, Idaho. They lived in Blackfoot, Idaho, and later to Pocatello. Two children were born to this union, Michael LaMar and Bradley Parry. They were later divorced.

She was employed at Farmers Insurance Group in Pocatello for over 30 years. After retiring in 1994, she moved to Malad.

On August 4, 1996, she married Michael Williams in Sandy, Utah. They resided in Malad until the time of her death. Jean was a wonderful mother not afraid of work and was always busy accomplishing projects that needed attention. Among the different interests she had, her friends and family were at the top of the list. She was very attentive to remember birthdays and Christmas for her family members. Receiving varieties of her home canned items was her personal touch to the gifts she shared.. The door of her home was always open to the one who needed a place to stay. Jean enjoyed hunting and gathering with friends and preparing meals for all to enjoy. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her presence, in the lives of those who love her, will be missed ,however, knowing Brad is in heaven waiting for her on the other side, along with all of her family who have preceded her, is so comforting and will be a joyful time for her.

Jean is survived by her husband, Michael Williams, of Malad; one son, Michael (Kim) Olson, of Sandy, Utah; one brother, Gary (Andee) Parry, of Malad: one granddaughter, Kasi Olson; many nieces and nephews; 6 step-children, eight sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1:00p.m. in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00a.m.-12:45p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.
