Aged Malad Resident Passed Away Tuesday

James Ramsay Bissell passed away Tuesday night, March 22, 1938 at the local hospital following an operation for a goiter the previous day.

Mr. Bissell was born in Valpariso, Indiana on June 10, 1863. He was the son of Major James and Sara Ramsay Bissell. His father was killed during the civil war.

Mr. Bissell and family moved to Malad and have made their home here since that time.

He leaves his wife and three daughters to mourn his demise. One daughter Miss Inez Mae, a nurse of Berkeley, California was at the bedside of her father at the time of his death having come home to take care of him. The other two girls, Mrs. Sally Anderson of Glendale, California and Mrs. Janae Cramer of Buhl, Idaho, arrived home to attend the funeral.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at the First ward chapel.

Funeral services were held Friday in the First ward chapel for James R. Bissell who died March 22, 1938. The Reverend D.E. Sharp presided and offered the invocation and benediction. Musical numbers were furnished by a trio composed of Mrs. Griff L. Jenkins, Mrs. W. D. Clark, and Marque Sharp, directed by Professor S. M. Powell.

Speakers were Reverend Sharp and E. E. Richards.

Interment was in the Malad cemetery with Mr. Sharp dedicating the grave.
