James Nielsen Burnett


James Nielsen Burnett, 80, died Saturday, May 17, 1997, at Ogden Regional Medical Center following a heart attack.
He was born May 31, 1916, in Malad, Idaho, a son of George Albert and Mary Nielsen Burnett.
He married Blanche LueDean Hammer on December 31, 1936, in Farmington. She died June 11, 1968. He married Ella M. Burnett on August 13, 1992, in North Ogden.
He had lived in the Ogden area for most of his life. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1935.
He was a member of the Washington Terrace 4th LDS Ward. He served as a High Priest Group leader and Home Teacher.
Mr. Burnett had been a brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad.
Surviving are his wife of Washington Terrace; one son and four daughters, Paul James (Connie) Burnett, Plain City; Lue Dean (Mark) Price, Ogden; RaNae (Steve) Cole, North Ogden; Pamela (Gene) Combs, Plain City; Linda (Michael) Maero, Farr West; five stepchildren, Annette (Bill) Lucas, Hooper; Patsy (Allen) Downs, Huntsville; Suzan (Rich) Jenkins, Clinton; Bonnie (Joseph) Russell, West Point; Emma (Ron) Walston, North Ogden; 38 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is one brother, George A. Burnett, South Ogden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Richard Shepherd of the Washington Terrace 4th Ward, officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment North Ogden/Ben Lomond Cemetery.
