Jackie Ipsen killed in Kansas truck accident
MALAD — Jacqueline (Jackie) Kay Ipsen, 11, 19 W: 90 South, died Monday near Hays, Kansas of injuries received in an auto accident. Jackie Ipsen, 11, daughter of Sandra and Earl Ipsen, and granddaughter of Ruth and Lyman Ipsen, died Monday in Hays, Kansas, of injuries received when the big semi, in which she and her parents were travelling, tipped over and rolled three times in a 70-mile-an-hour wind storm.
Jackie and her parents had been to Texas, where she had visited her maternal grandmother. They were headed home with a load of pipe.
She was born November 5, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Parents are Earl William and Sandra Sawtelle Ipsen. She had lived in Boise and Las Vegas and moved to Malad a year ago, where she was a student in Malad Elementary’s fifth grade.
She is survived by her parents, Malad; one brother, Cory Ipsen, Malad; grandparents, Lyman and Ruth Ipsen, Pleasantview; Jeanne Rowlind, San Antonio, Texas; and O.L. Sawtelle, San Jose, California; a great-grandmother, Mrs. Mary Ipsen, Pleasantview.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary in Ogden with Bishop Jack Savage of the Mountain Green Ward officiating.
Entombment in Aultorest Memorial Mausoleum.
