Jack Milton Hatley

Robin….On March 2, 2012 the world lost a very special man. He was a great friend, neighbor, and family man. Born August 30, 1929 in Pocatello, Idaho, Jack Milton Hatley, was the son of Fred H. and Rachel Josephine Norton Hatley. Jack was raised in Arbon Valley in the Mercer Creek area and as a young boy, attended school at the Mercer Elementary School. He later graduated from Arimo High School, class of 1948. He began farming in Arbon and Robin and from 1948 to 1988 worked side by side with his step father, Herman Krueger. He married Rhonda Marley on December 21, 1951 in Pocatello and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. For a short time he was employed with P.F.E. Jack ranched and farmed in Robin for many years. He had the gift of gab and enjoyed visiting with friends neighbors, family and anyone else he met. He loved the farm and also travelling. Jack made new friends where ever he went and loved telling them stories. the story telling has ended, but his tales will live on and on. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jack is survived by his wife, Rhonda Hatley of Robin; 4 children; Scott Hatley of Lava Hot Springs; Sheldon (Cheryl) Hatley of Robin; Starla Smith of Dingle, Idaho and Sharalea Pewtress of Pocatello. 10 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. 1 brother; Gary (Judy) Krueger of Idaho Falls; and a sister; Elaine (Delmar) Cammack of Castledale, Utah. also surviving is a foster daughter; Rita Merillo of Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents and Step father, Herman Krueger. Jack will truly be missed by many. “We love you, Pops”
**Please note a change in the day of the funeral service; Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 12 noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel, Bishop Kurttis Smith, officiating. Friends may visit with the Hatley family on Tuesday evening March 6, from 6-8 pm at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home 570 N. Meadowview Drive in Arimo. and on Wednesday at the church prior to services from 10:30-11:45 am. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery in McCammon.
