J. Lloyd Udy

ROCKLAND – J. Lloyd Udy, 73, died Wednesday in a Salt Lake City hospital of a heart ailment.

He was born Nov. 3, 1898, in Farmington, Utah, to George Q. and Evelyn Moon Udy. He married Birdie Adams Layton on Feb. 28, 1940, at American Falls.

He was a rancher and stock­man in the Rockland area.

Mr. Udy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat­ter-day Saints, and the Idaho Cattlemen’s Association.

Survivors include his widow; stepsons Hyrum Layton, Reno, Nev., and Ben Layton, Fillmore, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Alvin E. (Lorraine) Jacobsen, Salt Lake City; brothers and sisters, Carl, Leadore; Roy, Las Vegas, Nev.; Grant, Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Hartley, Mrs. Shirley (Edith) Byington, Mrs. Elmer (Lelia) Hartley, and Mrs. Lloyd (Ruby) Morris, all of Rockland, and Mrs. Orel (Melba) Ingland, Plain City, Utah.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, Kaysville, Utah, where friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Kaysville-Layton Memorial Park.
