Ivy Jean Atkinson East

OGDEN – Ivy Jean Atkinson East, 58, died Saturday, August 22, 1998 at a local care center following an extended illness.

She was born September 11, 1939 in Malad, Idaho. A daughter of David Roderick and Mary White Atkinson.

On November 29, 1963, Ivy married Max Barrow East in Malad, Idaho. Max died June 23, 1998.

She was raised and educated in Malad, Idaho, graduating from Malad High School and Stevens Henager Business College. She moved to Ogden following her marriage.

Ivy was a member of the Lomond View LDS Ward where she had served as a pianist in the Primary. She was a Visiting Teacher and had served as a counselor in the Relief Society.

Ivy loved collecting dolls.

Surviving are one son Curtis (Katherine) East, Ogden, and six grandchildren.

Ivy is also survived by three brothers, Arthur (Penny) Atkinson, Brigham City, Roger (Verlayne) Atkinson, Sandy; Clarence (Georgia) Atkinson, Paris, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by one son Kevin, and one brother, David.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday Noon to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
