As a Captain, his company was cited for meritorious service and he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was proud to be a veteran and loved his country and the American flag.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 1946, his master’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1948 and his Ph.D. from Washington State College in 1952. He was a professor of Agricultural Economics at Brigham Young University from 1952-82 where he served in foreign assignments in Argentina, Venezuela, Canada and Mexico. After retiring from BYU, he also served in assignments in Saudi Arabia and Peru.

Always faithful and active in the LDS Church, he served in positions of leadership in Bishoprics, High Councils and as High Priest group leader. He served as a temple ordinance worker for ten years in the Mesa, AZ and Jordan River temples. His productive tenacity in doing genealogical research, family history and temple work has been an inspiration to all.
