Isabell Roderick Ashton

ROY – Our sweet, beautiful, mother, grandmother and sister Isabell Roderick Ashton, 86, returned to Heavenly Father on Friday, Aug 19, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.

She was born on Nov 19, 1918, to William Price Roderick and Mary Jane Myler in Pauline Power, Idaho, now known as Oneida County, Idaho.

On March 22, 1944 she married Harvey Willis Ashton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised their family in Ogden, Utah.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions including Primary President, Spiritual Living Teacher, Visiting Teacher Leader. She was the most kind, loving and gentle person; one without guile. Her life exemplified service and love for her family, church and community. She was also passionate about Family History, temple work, scripture study and playing her organ. She cherished her children and grandchildren, who will love and miss her forever.

She is survived by one son, Robert and wife Marie Ashton, San Ramon, California, three daughters; Shelba and husband Richard Rich of West Haven, Mary and husband Bill Settlemire of Odgen, Rosalie Ashton of Salt Lake, 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Thora Ann Hess, Sandy, Utah and Velma Ipsen, Pleasantview, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Harvey W. Ashton, son, Harvey Boyd Ashton, her parents and sister Myrtle Roderick.

We would like to extend a special message of gratitude to staff at Peachtree Place, Pineview Rehab and Dr Kelson for the dedicated service and compassion they provided to mom during her last few weeks here on this earth.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., Ogden.
