Ila Karlene Romriell Lloyd

Ila Karlene Romriell Lloyd passed away peacefully in Pocatello, Idaho on February 16, 2010. She was born August 23, 1928, in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; daughter of Ellen Louise Almond Romriell and Wilford Karl Romriell. Karlene has two older sisters, Helen and Blanche. Karlene was three months old when her mother passed away. Her father remarried a year later to Marian Bowman; and two sisters, Marilyn and Lois and three brothers Lyle, Gerald and Howard later joined the family.
Karlene was a good student and liked learning new things. She was always top of her class and graduated with honors from McCammon High School.
On June 1, 1946, Karlene married Robert Dale Lloyd in McCammon, Idaho at her parent’s home. They were later sealed as an eternal family to each other and their six children in the Ogden Utah Temple.
Karlene has always been a creative person and enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, crossword puzzles and cake decorating. She used this creativity to help her with what she considered her most important calling, as wife, homemaker, and mother to six children.
As a member of the LDS church she served in many positions in both the Primary and in Relief Society; probably her favorite was her calling as the Stake Homemaking Leader that she held for eight years.
Karlene is survived by her children: Ramona Kissel, Ron & Cheryl Lloyd of McCammon, Idaho; Duane & Sharlene Lloyd of Hayden Lake, Idaho; Darla & Merrill Marley and Holly & Steven Tanner of Arimo, Idaho; and Karen & Robert Pugh of Hampstead, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister Lois Jenkins of Tremonton, Utah; and two brothers Howard and Lyle Romriell of McCammon, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents Karl and Ellen; three sisters, Helen Bullock, Blanche Todd, and Marilyn Romriell; a brother, Gerald Romriell; and a grandson, John Kissel.
The Lloyd Family expresses deep appreciation to the staff of Highland Hills Assisted Living Center for the loving care of their Mother where she has resided for the last three years.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 12 noon at the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel with Bishop Ivan Bullock officiating. Friends may visit with the Lloyd Family on Friday, February 19, 2010, from 6 to 8 PM at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Drive, Arimo, Idaho and Saturday at the church prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetary in McCammon, Idaho.
