Howard William Briggs

MALAD, Ida-Howard William Briggs, 86, of Malad, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2000, in the Oneida County Nursing Home.
He was born on October 5, 1913, in Plymouth, Utah, a son of G. Ulmer and Sylvia Clark Briggs. He was raised and educated in the Pocatello Valley of Oneida County.
He married Dorothy Richards on June 20, 1942, in Malad.
For many years he had farmed and ranched near Malad.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Malad; one son, Loyd, (Stephanie) Briggs, five daughters, Bernice ( Grant) Weeks, Larae (Jesse) Harrison, Beth Briggs, all of Malad, Mary Toone of Green River, Wyoming, Maurine (Tom) Karas of Phoenix, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Ray Briggs of Burley, Idaho; one sister, Beatrice (Delmar) Clark of Malad.
Howard loved and enjoyed his family, friends and all facets of outdoor activities.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at noon in the St. John LDS Ward Chapel, located at 308 W. 400 N. Friends may call at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., this evening, Tuesday, July 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank all those who helped and expressed their love and concern for our husband, father and grandfather. They would like to suggest donations be made to the Oneida County Hospital and Long-Term Care Facility, in memory of Howard W. Briggs.
