Helen Wilcox Marriott

Garland – Helen Wilcox Marriott, 84, died February 2, 1998 at Godfrey’s Foothill Retreat in Brigham City. She was born May 8, 1913 in Malad, Idaho, the daughter of Charles Emory and Eliza Snow Lyon Wilcox.

She married John Emery Marriott, December 5, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died August 30, 1980.

Helen lived in Holbrook, Idaho and moved to Brigham City where she graduated from Box Elder High School. She was active in the PTA. She loved to quilt, and had many prize winning quilts. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for many years.

Mrs. Marriott was an active member of the LDS Church and worked in the Relief Society Presidency and served as a teacher in the mutual and primary. She filled a mission in San Bernardino, California, served as a temple worker in the Logan LDS Temple and did extraction work for many years.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Camille (Joe) Foster, Lima MT.; John (Linda) Marriott, Smithfield; Charles (Kathy) Marriott, Redding, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, five sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Feb. 7, 1998, 1 p.m. at the Fielding Stake Center, 4375 W. 15600 No., with Bishop William Crockett, officiating. Friends may call Fri., Feb., 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 No. 100 E. Tremonton and Sat., from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment in the Garland Cemetery.
