Helen Leda Ipsen Loomis

Malad…Helen Leda Ipsen Loomis, 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Helen was born September 16, 1935, in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Louis and Leda Maude Jones Ipsen. As a young girl, the family moved to California, where she was raised and educated. While there she met and married Paul Anderson and to this union were born three children. They divorced and she later married Theodore “Ted” Loomis in 1959. They also had three children and in 1973, moved to Malad. Helen spent her life serving others as she was employed as a nurse in Ventura, California and later in Malad at the Oneida County Hospital for several years. Helen enjoyed knitting, crocheting and all handwork, also traveling and dining out. Her love was spending time with her family. She is survived by her children; Linda Anderson Jones of Malad; Paul (Dani) Anderson of Visalia, CA.; Louis (Marian) Anderson of N. Carolina; Lesia Loomis (Dave) Gittens of Alaska and Mary Loomis (Kim) Wakley of Malad. 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Daniel Theodore Loomis her husband Ted. 2 brothers; Nephi Peter Ipsen and Lou Dell Ipsen. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010, at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. in Malad. Friends may visit with the Loomis family on Monday prior to the service from 10:30-1:30 am. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
