Hall C. Burrup

POCATELLO – Hall C. Burrup, 59, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Hall was born May 12, 1945, in Malad, Idaho, to Holt and Vera Burrup of Downey. He attended schools in Downey and Caldwell, Idaho, and graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Economics in 1971. Hall joined the Marine Corps in 1966 and served in the Marine Reserve for 8 years. He also served in the bishopric of the Salt Lake 38th Ward of the Park Stake.

In Salt Lake City Hall was employed as a route salesman for Wonder Bread until his retirement. He spent his leisure time canoeing, reading, and marathon running. He enjoyed music and a continual learning and study of languages. Hall was loved by his family and friends for his quick wit, his caring insight, and his sense of humor.

Hall is survived by his mother, Vera Criddle Burrup Evans of Pocatello; former wife Connie Stowe Wahl, Ogden, Utah; five children, Joel S. (Brenda) Burrup, West Valley, Utah, Joshua D. (Ileana) Burrup, Midvale, Utah, Jaymie (Don) Christensen, Centerville, Utah, Jennifer Burrup, Ogden, Utah, and Jesse H. J. Burrup, West Valley, Utah; four grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Crystal (Douglas) Young, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Lyle (Necia) Burrup, Salt Lake City, Utah, Lois Brown, Cheyenne, Wyo., Karma (John) Merzlock, Pocatello, Idaho; and 27 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Holt Burrup.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the River 4th Ward at 1380 W. 6785 South in West Jordan, Utah, with family visitation an hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Veteran’s Cemetery at 17111 S. Camp Williams Road (Redwood Rd) in Riverton, Utah. Local arrangements and cremation have been under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4th Avenue.
