Grant Glazier Haws

MALAD – Grant Glazier Haws, 87, of Malad, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 1998 in the Idaho Veterans’ Home.

He was born Nov. 21, 1910 in Tremonton, Utah, a son of Lorin Dean and Mary Evans Haws.

He attended school in Tremonton, and worked on the family farm in Curlew during the summers.

On Oct. 9, 1935 he married Afton Hill Workman, and they had a daughter Sharon Kay. They were later divorced.

During World War II Grant served in the U.S. Navy.

On March 15, 1950 he married Sarah Elvene Peterson in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. She passed away Dec. 5, 1979. Grant married Margueritte Tims on April 28, 1984 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they served in the Louisville, Kentucky mission for 18 months.

Grant is survived by his wife, Marguerite, of Malad; his daughter, Sharon Kay (Robert) Huerta of Ogden, Utah; three grandchildren, seven grreat-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; eight stepchildren, 29 step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 1998, at 3 p.m. in the Malad LDS Sixth Ward Chapel, 400 N. 200 West. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 North, Malad, on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Ernest W. Jones Post No. 65 Security Bank.
