Gloria Brown Nelson Sweeten

Malad…Gloria Brown Nelson Sweeten, 75, wife of Cecil Sweeten, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born April 15, 1935, a daughter of Carvel and Luella Brown. She is survived by her beloved husband, Cecil Sweeten and former husband, Guy Nelson. She is also survived by brothers, Richard and Carvel Brown both of Cheyenne, Wyoming; four children who loved her dearly; LeVae (Kip) Larson Heiner, Cheryl (Robert) Morse, Bart (Kristi) Nelson and Michelle (Ronald) Glaittli; Stepchildren; Wendy Peck, Ken, Todd, Darin and Lane Sweeten; 48 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Gloria, a former resident of Bountiful, Utah,, was an exceptional educator and taught school fro 32 years at Centerville, Washington, Stuart and Knowlton elementary schools. Gloria was very service-oriented to her family, church and community. She was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in various callings. She served an inter-city mission in Salt Lake City and was an L.D.S. temple worker. Music was one of her passions that she used to bless others. She also loved nature and spent time with their family hiking, horseback riding and sight-seeing. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 7th Ward Chapel 200 W. 400 N. Friends may visit with Gloria’s family on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. and on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:30-11:30 am.
