Glen Carlos Bennett

Memorial services held at the Benson Horsley Funeral Home on January 9, 2004 for former resident Glen Carlos Bennett, who passed away at the age of 94 in Torrence, California.

He was born on May 23, 1909 in Malad, Idaho to John and Elizabeth Bennett. He was the youngest of twelve children, seven boys and five girls.

He married Ruth Williams on January 25, 1930 in Malad, Idaho by his father who was a Justice of the Peace. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on September 28, 1933. They were the parents of five children: Glen, Eugene, Milton Reed, Mary Elizabeth, Marian Ruth, and Caryline Sue.

They moved to California 65 years ago for better employment and have lived in Hawthorne, California. He was a truck driver for many years and claimed that he had been in every state except Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, two sons, Eugene and Milton, and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth. He is survived by two daughters, Marian Hanson and Caryline Koons, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions including counselor in the Bishopric and 20 years as a temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple

Services were held on January 6, 2004 in the LDS Church in Hawthorne, California.
