Gladys Mae Jenkins Ruddell

Brigham City – Gladys Mae Jenkins Ruddell, age 93, died Saturday, Nov 6, 1993. She was born May 22, 1900 at St. John, Idaho, a daughter of William Thomas and Margaret Jane Glover Jenkins.

She married Robert Peary Hendrix in 1918 and was later divorced. She later married Clair Isaac Ruddell on Sept 13, 1924 at Malad, Idaho, and was later solemnized, April 13, 1979 in an LDS Temple. Mr. Ruddell died Oct 4, 1977.

She was past President of the VFW Auxiliary and was a member of the DUP Fort Brigham Camp.

Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting and handcrafts.

She was active in the LDS Church serving as a Relief Society Teacher.

Surviving are nine sons and daughters, Harry and Barbara Ruddell, of Eugene, Oregon; William Clayton and Fanchea Ruddell, Roslyn, Penn.; Ralph and Maxine Ruddell, Brigham City, Utah; Lewis and Kathleen Ruddell, Layton, Utah; Gail and Mary Ruddell, Ogden, Utah; Gail and Mary Ruddell, Ogden, Utah; Dr. James (Dora Mae) Bosley, Laverne, Calif.; Dr. Jack (Louise) Matesen, Ely, Nev.; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Kilburn, Perry, Utah; Mrs. Bud (Norrine) Williams, Brigham City, Utah; 37 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Spaulding, Thornton, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by one son, three daughters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov 10 1993, 11a.m. in the 22nd Ward Chapel, 203 North 2nd West, Brigham City, (Utah)

Friends may call Tuesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Petersen Funeral Chapel.
