Gerald Ralph Tovey, age 66, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 in Pocatello, Idaho surrounded by his family after suffering cardiac arrest on September 13, 2012.
Gerald was born March 1, 1946 in Malad, Idaho to Ralph and Mary Jane Jones Tovey. He graduated from Malad High School in 1964; then lived and worked on the farm all of his life. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting and enjoyed many trips to Island Park, Yellowstone and other places of interest with his friends.
Gerald owned a 1931 Ford Model A that he and his son, Brooks restored. You could see him driving around town in it often.
He married Geraldine Morgan and they had two sons: Roger and Brooks. They were later divorced.
He is survived by two sons, Roger (Michelle), and Brooks and (Monica), both of Malad, Idaho; Five grandchildren: Brady (Candace), Blake, Hunter, Journie, and Anistyn Tovey; two sisters: Marilyn Mansfield of Pocatello and Malad and Joan (Elden) Nielson of Malad, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He loved his grandchildren dearly and was very proud of them. He was a kind and gentle person and will be greatly missed.
At his request he was cremated.
Memorial Services will be held at the Horsley Funeral Home on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-1045 a.m. at the funeral home.
