George Hansen Jones


OGDEN – George Hansen Jones, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at Manor Care in South Ogden. He passed away from pneumonia and causes incident to age.
He was born February 22, 1919 in Malad, Idaho to Frederick R. and Evelyn Hansen Jones. He married Bernice Rawson on November 20, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 17, 1942. She preceded him in death on August 16, 1999.
He was the owner/operator of Jones Radio and TV Repair. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as a radio technician 1st class, in the South Pacific with the Navy Amphibious Forces.
He was a member of the Cine Arts Movie Club and Mt. Ogden Movie Makers, and received many awards for his movies.
He was a member of the LDS Church, and had been active as superintendent of the Sunday school; and as bishop’s counselor.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Sharon J. (Orson) Badger, Michael G. Jones, six grand-children, and ten great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 12-12:45 p.m.
Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by the DAV Honor Guard.
