Gary Royal Johnson passed away after a long battle with cancer on March 4, 2018 at the age of 80. Gary was born on July 22, 1937. The son of Royal Dalton Johnson and Iola Tracy Johnson of Ogden, Utah. He married Joy Seegmiller on May 5, 1956. They later divorced. He married Thea Burton Butters on April 9, 1982. They moved to Echo, Utah where they lived for 36 years. They just recently moved to Malad, Idaho in December of 2016.
He served in the National Guard during the Korean War. Gary loved his family time along with hunting, fishing, camping and bull shitting.
He is survived by 7 children, Dennis (Katie) Johnson, of Willard Utah, Doug (Pat) Johnson of Kentucky, Richard (Liza) Johnson of Ogden, Utah, Laurie (Steve) Weiss of Harrisville, Utah. Trisha Butters of Coalville, Utah and Brady Butters of Lyman, Wyoming, a sister Geraldine (Don) Scott of Butte, Montana, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Lane Johnson.
Graveside Services and his celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ogden City Cemetery.
