Gary Clifford Eddy

NORTH OGDEN – Gary Eddy, 71, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 of complications of pancreatic. He was born June 18, 1936 in Ogden, UT. He is the son of Christian Albert Eddy and Mildred Fern Vest.

Gary was born and raised in Kaysville, UT. Gary is survived by his wife, Joyce Rookhuyzen Romer. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 24, 1956. After their marriage they moved to San Mateo, CA. Gary had a deep love for California and always referred to the bay area as his home away from home. From this union eight children were born, Doug (Marianne) Eddy, Willard, UT, Karen Garner, Ogden, UT, Nan (Jim) Scheer, Plain City, UT, Chris (Donna) Eddy, Malad, ID, Joann (Tim) Louth, Slaterville, UT, Barbara (Mike) Hincks, South Ogden, UT, Eric Duke Eddy, North Ogden, UT, Angie (Rowdy) Irick, North Ogden, UT, Mathew Eddy, and David Eddy of NY.

Gary loved the gospel and served a stake mission in the San Mateo, CA area and held other various callings in the church.

He is also survived by four brothers and one sister, Jack (Mary) Eddy of CA, Elwood (Louise) Eddy of UT, Max (Beverly) Eddy, UT, Mark Eddy of VA and Ann (Joe) Jenson of Id; 31 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother little Chris Eddy.

He received his bachelors degree of Science in Gerontology. Gary had a life long insatiable appetite for both the acquisition of and dispensing of knowledge. Without question Gary’s passion was the never-ending love of his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 1008 at the North Ogden LDS Third Ward. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
