Fredrick S. Illum dies in Oregon
Fredrick S, Illum, 64, resident of Warrenton, Oregon since 1940, died at an Astoria, Oregon hospital Thursday, December 20.
Mr. Illum was born October 28, 1915 at Malad to Sevil and Nell Beard Illum. Following high school, he attended Idaho State University for two years. He married Mina Wright on August 30, 1940 at Seaside, Oregon. They lived in Salem for a short time before moving to Warrenton.
Mr. Illum was employed by the Oregon State Highway Department as a supervisor of drawbridges in Clatsop County He was a member of the Oregon State Employees Association and the LDS Church.
He is survived by his wife, Warrenton; two brothers, DeVere and Elmer, Malad; two sisters, Beth Nelson of Burns, Oregon and Nellie Nelson of Ogden; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday at the Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Astoria.
