Florabell Williams Olafson Furgeson, 90, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Sandy Health and Rehab Nursing Home in Sandy Utah.

She was born September 17, 1921, in Samaria, Idaho to William Jenkin (Jink) Williams and Mary May John Williams. She married Eric Otto Olafson in 1941, later divorced. Had one daughter, Connie Jean Olafson Diebold. Married LeRoy W. Furgeson, in 1945.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband LeRoy Furgeson and her brother William Jay Williams. She is survived by her daughter Connie Diebold (Ken) of South Jordan, Utah, two sisters, Joy Waggoner (LeRoy) of Layton, Utah, and Lila Crookston, Sandy Utah. Sister In Law, Marykay Williams, West Jordan, Utah. 5 Grandchildren, Jennifer Donohoo, Riverton, Utah, Scott Diebold (Jackie), and Todd Diebold (Myrriah), both of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Mike Diebold (Kelly), South Jordan, Utah and Wendy Noyes, (Eric) Irvine, California. 25 Grandchildren, Erik Donohoo (Liz) Orem, Utah, Gregg Donohoo, Preston Donohoo, Conner Donohoo, Mayson Donohoo, Sarah Diebold, Carrie Diebold, Shawn Diebold, Brandon Diebold, Annie Diebold, Wendy Diebold, Elena Diebold, Erin George, Brennen George, Isabella Diebold, Malerie Diebold, Cameron Diebold, Braiden Diebold, Makenzie Diebold, Landon Diebold, Dallin Diebold, Savannah Diebold, Elisabeth Diebold, Grace Noyes and Jack Noyes, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Flora moved to Ogden, Utah at the age of 13 with her family. She moved to California with her husband Bud in 1945. They lived in California until 1972 when her husband retired and they moved back to Malad. Known as “Flo” by her friends, Flora was active throughout her life as a dedicated volunteer. She served in many capacities in Malad, Idaho, Las Vegas Nevada, Chino Hillls, California and South Jordan, Utah. She was the first Daughter of a World War I Veteran to serve as President of the Ladies Auxillary World Ward I Veterans in Malad, Idaho 1978-79. She worked as a waitress for many years even working at one time at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. She was friendly and enthusiastic and did an excellent job no matter where she worked. She was always willing to go the extra mile in helping others. She was an avid reader and loved doing crafts and enjoyed making decorations for the luncheons of the many organizations to which she belonged. She enjoyed making her favorite Chili Sauce, Zucchini Relish, Rice Pudding and her “Secret ” Ranch Dressing Recipe. We are grateful for her love and example. She will be truly missed.

A special thanks to the staff at the Sandy Health and Rehab Nursing home and Hearts for Hospice Care, for their love and care they gave her while there.

Funeral services will be provided by the Horsley Funeral Home and will be held at the River 1st. Ward LDS Chapel, 1239 W. Country Creek Drive in South Jordan, Utah, Saturday, November 5th at 10:30 a.m. with a viewing held an hour prior to the services from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Friends may also visit with the family Saturday, November 5th, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home in Malad, Idaho.
