Farrell George Lewis

BOUNTIFUL Utah – Farrell George Lewis 80, died November 30, 1998, in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born May 24, 1918, in Malad, Idaho, to George and Jane McKay Lewis. He married Johnetta Grant in 1939. That marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in September of 1959. She died in 1980. He later married Barbara Pugmire on September 11, 1981.

Farrell served in the Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. An active member of the LDS Church, he served in many capacities, including branch president. He was loved and admired by all those who he came in contact with. He was an avid sportsman.

Survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Dr. David (Pam) Lewis, and Randy (Melanie) Lewis; two daughters, Carol Ann (Warren) Olsen and Terri (George) Coggle; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary; and sister Lila (LaMar) Barnes. Preceded in death by his son, Grant; a brother and sister; and his grandson, Jimmy.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary. Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery.

He was a loving and gentle husband, caring father, a generous grandfather, and an example of honesty and dependability.
