Evelyn T. Jones, 94, longtime educator in Malad, died Tuesday, November 3, 1992, in Oneida County Nursing Home.
She was born May 18, 1898, in Malad, a daughter of Bernard Parry and Sarah Cordelia Thomas Jones.
She attended school in Malad and later attended Albion State Normal School, and Utah State University. She retired in 1967 after 49 years of teaching in Malad public schools. She had been principal in the Malad Elementary School for many years.
She was a member of the Reorganized L.D.S. Church. She is survived by one brother, Milton Thomas Jones, of Malad; and many nieces and nephew, including local residents. A Jay and Betty Jones, Marlo and Dorothy Lewis, and Jerry H. and Sandra Jones, all of Malad.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
