Evelyn A. Richards, age 82 of Rigby, Idaho died Thursday, December 31, 1998, at her daughter’s home in Rigby.
Evelyn was born July 29, 1916, at Bountiful, Utah, the daughter of Franklin D. and Alfretta Boulton Ashdown. She married Melvin Merrill Richards in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 30, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the LDS Church. She has lived in California, Pocatello, Malad and LaBelle, Idaho. She loved horses, gardening, flowers, sewing, doing temple work and her family.
Evelyn is survived by four daughters: Ann McOmber of Rigby, Idaho; Beverly Kennedy of Malad, Idaho; Vicki Willis of Inkom, Idaho; and Mary Gilgen of Malad, Idaho; three sisters: Bernice Weber of Canada; Marjorie Olsen of Kent, Washington; Jerry Christensen of Pingree, Idaho; one brother, Donald Ashdown of Alamogordo, New Mexico; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Eugene, and one brother Ray Ashdown.
Funeral Services were held Monday, January 4, 1999, at the LaBelle LDS Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Kerry Lundquist officiating. Burial was at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
