Eva May Newsham Hadfield

Eva May Newsham Hadfield, 88, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, died Sunday, April 26, 1992, in Calgary.
She was born May 6, 1903, a daughter of Arthur and Frances Ellen Bateman Newsham. She married Arta Hawks Hadfield Aug. 20, 1936, in Portland, Ore. She had attended school in Alberta, and had received her nurse’s training in the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. She later worked for three years in Edmonton, and then at Portland Ore., and Billings, Mont.
She was a member of the LDS Church and had several church positions. She also worked extensively with the Red Cross blood procurement programs.
After her marriage, she and her husband had traveled extensively due to his employment. After he husband’s death she moved to Laguna Hills, Calif., and in 1985 moved to Calgary.
She is survived by her in-laws living in Malad, Ralph and Louaine Hadfield, Edith Simmons, Afton McDaniels, and Eva Hadfield.
A service will be held Thursday at noon in the Benson-Hosley Funeral Home in Malad, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burials will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
